Good evening everyone.

I have a short stay planned for myself and 4 other women, (all over age 55) at Cypress Harbor in a few weeks, only 3 nights.
Having never been there, I'm wondering if I can get some answers here on the boards.
Questions:
Do we need a car if we plan on just staying onsite most of the time? We would perhaps lyft or uber out to a restaurant a couple of times. Any suggestions on good area restaurants would also be appreciated.
It seems like a very large property. Is there onsite transportation from the lobby check in to our room/building?
Where would a lyft ride be able to pick us up? Only lobby area or in front of our building?
While we're not elderly, we're not young either, so convenience with luggage and getting around is a serious consideration.
How many, if any, restaurants are on site? Are they good?
Is there a breakfast place on property, either the restaurant or quick grab?
Can we pick up a few staples for the kitchen onsite, such as milk, coffee, toast, butter, eggs, wine, cheese and crackers and such, or do we need to stop at a supermarket?
I see there is a spa onsite. We would definitely be interested in spa services. Is there a link for a current spa menu? There isn't much info on the Marriott website.

I am looking into taking a lyft to and from MCO, as opposed to renting a car. Any opinions on that which may help with our decision?

Any info you can provide is very much appreciated.

Thank you for your time.

Hi Dee,
I‘ve stayed at Cypress Harbour several times over the years.
Its not that big that you should have a problem walking around, but if you need help with luggage or a ride the staff can take you in a golf cart. You should also get a pre arrival email a week or 2 in advance and you can indicate that you won’t have a car and would like to be near the lobby.
If you go to the resort web site you will find the spa menu with prices and also info for onsite dining options. There is a marketplace where you can grab basic groceries and starbucks, but if you plan to cook the near by Publix has a better selection and prices. Publix has a good selection of easy prep meals too- stuffed chicken breast, kabobs ready for the grill, etc. There are a lot of options for food delivery too- my family loves giordanos stuffed pizza and salad delivery.

A restaurant near the resort that we like is Bonefish grill. We also like the First Watch chain ( there are several on them) for breakfast and lunch. All of the chain restaurants are in abundance in Orlando.

We always rent a car so I can’t help with advice there except to say it’s an easy drive the airport and there is lots of dining and shopping right close to the resort so that’s easy too.

I was just there in December. We had a car but that wasn’t for the full trip. We asked to be near the lobby since we didn’t have a rental. Uber and Lyft will pick you up at your building. If you want to be within walking distance to a pool and the lobby ask for building 53 or 54 possibly if I remember correctly, just ask them since you won’t have a car. I was pleased with the cypress and would stay there again if I was able to get that building. If you’re staying in a two bedroom. There is a king in the master, a queen in the second bedroom and a twin sized sleeper sofa in that second bedroom. It would be extremely tight in that room to open that sleeper sofa. We were 3 people and I wouldn’t have wanted anymore in that room.

Thanks. I imagine we’ll do the 2 cousins in the king, 1 in the queen and 1 each on each sleeper. We’ll have to manage with it being a tight fit. Thanks again for your advice.

Thank you! Especially for the dining info. I’ll pass it along to my group for some planning.

Isn’t there also a sleeper sofa in the living room? I understand the 2 bedroom sleeps 6.

Yes, a sleeper in bedroom 2 and one in the living room. I believe max occupancy is 8 meaning 2 per bed. 6 privately meaning 2 per room.
When you open the sleeper in bedroom 2 it is crowded- no much room between bed and sofa.

It sleeps six, if you put two in each bed. The sleeper sofa in the second bedroom is not ideal imo due to the tight space.

The second bedroom is going to be like a sardine can. You may be better off taking the mattress off of sleep sofa and bringing it into the living room and sleep on the floor. Also, the living room sofa is huge and it may be more comfortable just sleeping on that rather than unfolding it.

You are going to spend a lot of money on Lyft. Probably $60 for round trip from MCO alone. Check out the cost of a rental car. Sometimes they are outrageous at the airport, but not so much off site.

For dining, there aren't that many restaurants of note near the property, but you can get a Lyft or drive to Disney Springs. It's a ten minute drive. There are dozens of restaurants there plus lots of other things to see and do. From there you can take a Disney bust to any of the resorts if you want to eat there. Some places are pretty cool (Wilderness Lodge, Animal Kingdom Lodge, etc.)

Thanks, I'm a DVC, so familiar with the resorts and Disney Springs restaurants. Truthfully, was trying to avoid, the crowds have been insane :O
But I do appreciate your input and will see if I can grab a res at a resort.
