Madge:

I just purchased my first TS on ebay. It is a points resort with 34,600 annual on Padre Island, TX. The closing is being done by a closing company and I understand I will have to pay $199 transfer fee. My question is, do I have to contact RCI Points myself or is it done through the resort or through the closing company in order to join and how much is the annual membership fee. If I have to do it myself, who do I call. Thanks.

michaelsmalley,

If the seller is transferring the Points membership along with the timeshare, you will need to submit a Points Membership Transfer Application (MTA).

Send an e-mail to feedback@rci.com and enter TUG in the subject line. Provide your complete mailing address, and the Communications Team will send you one.

Everyone listed on the current Points membership will need to sign as sellers/grantors. Everyone who will be listed on the new account will sign as purchasers/grantees.

After all parties have signed the MTA, please return it to us with the appropriate payment. You can then mail the MTA to RCI, Attn: Customer Service, 9998 N. Michigan Rd., Carmel IN 46032 or fax it to 317/805-9335.
