My niece is trying to return 500,00 points back to Wyndham as my brother & sister -in-law both passed away. Wyndham told her to send death certificates & they would take care of it. Two months later & she is still waiting, called several times & now are telling her somehow they got her info & are saying she must continue paying for now & they have her listed on contract now. Something shady going on & could use some help in what she should do now. Has even talked about getting an attorney as she is dealing with enough right now Thanks for any help Deanie

List it here to try get ride of it. This is a safe community to sell or give away for free. Is the contract paid off?

She should be talking to someone in certified Exit. She hasn't by any chance since their death made reservations for herself or anyone else.

While she could be listed as a contact for the account, she shouldn't have been added to the contract if she wasn't already on at least one contract or they have documentation of her asking to be added or if she used the account.

Is it deeded property or is it wyndham Access points?

Sounds like fearmongering by Wyndham - your niece cannot legally be added to any contract without her express written permission. She may have inadvertently agreed to use the Wyndham Tribute program which allows descendants to legally take over a Wyndham contract/account - but she would have had to have signed paperwork to do this IIRC. Have your niece contact Certified Exit for advisory:

Thanks for the info about certified exit. She called again yesterday & lady had'nt called back yet. She is now in contact with my brothers lawyer as when checking with Wyndham she found out they have her address soc number & put her on a contract without her knowledge. She was only wanting to turn it back in & did what they asked on sending death cert. but now it had gotten to be a mess as she afraid if stopped paying maintenence they would go after her The whole thing stinks . I want to thank everyone who responded to my post as I am new to this site still learning the ropes. My niece will try the number tomorrow but not holding out much help. We thought this would be a easy process as only brother & wife on contract & the kids did'nt want it but boy we were wrong. Crazy part in all this is how Wyhndam got her info when she only gave them her name. Will try to keep you posted. Deanie

Will try to keep you posted. Deanie

Please do. The resolution would be important to some of us older folks who do not have a relative who is interested in keeping our Wyndham property.

Well my niece is finally done with Wyndham & only took 6 months. She has called the woman she working with evert week & then was told they could'nt find the death cert. she sent. At that point my niece went balistic. She got all the copies of the letters she had sent, the dates they were received & how signed for them & my brothers attorney faxed everything to their deeding department. Guess what 4hrs later she got a call that her parents contract was closed & they faxed paperwork back to the lawyer. She let me know that she had stopped paying maintence in June & had closed the credit card her folks had been using. Of course Wnydham had been going after her too. I hope no one else in this situation has to go thru what we niece did. Shame on them!!!!! Deanie

Thanks for the (hopefully) final update! It really is mind boggling how Wyndham (or any other big company) can over complicate so many straight forward business events. And I know that when a big company says they didn't receive previously sent information, it's always a lie. Even incompetence doesn't explain that kind of thing. Deliberate obfuscation does maybe come in here. And maybe overworked or under motivated employees just discarding these submissions.

I have to figure out what I can do to avoid or at least minimize the aggravation for whoever agrees to be my executor. The information in this thread at least provides a roadmap of things to anticipate and then avoid.

Maybe my niece is finally done with Wyndham. Got a letter today stating they have cancelled the contract so she hopes this is the end of it. Had a hard time with the notary problem as Wyndham could'nt understand that the bank notary had a first name with only the letter J so her bank had to fax more info. This has just been a nightmare for my brothers kids & expecially for my niece handling all this. She had a drink to celebrate[ha] Deanie
