Woe is me...I got a new camera for my birthday and I hate it! It's a Panasonic with a lovely Leica lens, but no view finder. Well, I've found I just can't get used to not having a view finder...the screen just has too much glare and I can't see it well enough to even know what I'm shooting!

SO, can anyone recommend a nice camera in the $400-$500 range? And it MUST have a viewfinder!

Thanks, Deb

Hi Deb -

I love my Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ50 (with viewfinder) and it is right in your price range.

Have you tried www.dpreview.com? An excellent source for camera reviews.

Ditto my Lumix FZ18. Main differences:
Zoom lens range: FZ50: 12x FZ18: 18x
Image size in megapixels: FZ50: 10 FZ18: 8

Thanks to both of you! I will definitely look at those..for some reason I was under the impression that there were no Panasonics w/view finders..I think I just needed to go "up in class" a bit.....:)

I'm partial to Canon because of the superior image quality but there are other P&S cameras out there with viewfinders, for example, the Panasonic FZ28
