We have a Worldmark the Club Membership which we are looking to sell. We have a loan that we pay monthly to Worldmark. We are looking to sell off the entire membership and be done with it. We've enjoyed using it but with the tough times now and a baby on the way, can't really afford it nor do we have the time to use it. I have been searching for hours to find the best way to go about this, and feel like I've gotten nowhere. I've found good information on selling credits but not an entire membership. There are so many websites that offer to buy your entire loan amount, but I don't know if they are reputable or will offer fair deals. Can anyone give me some advice as to how to go about selling our membership?

Thank you so very much!

First, go back to the main page for this "Buying, Renting, Selling" forum and click on the link at the top of the index titled "How to Sell Your Timeshare".

Second - since you have a loan on the timeshare things might get a bit complicated. The value of Worldmark credits in resale market has been somewhere around $0.50 t0 $0.70 per point - that may have even gone down recently. How does the remaining balance on your loan compare with that resale value? If the resale value is less than your loan balance, you will probably need to come up with the difference in cash to complete the sale.

As Steve said The resale market for WM memberships is about $0.50- $0.70/pt BUT the good news is that there are some people who don't want to pay anything upfront and will pay extra per pt to buy a WM contract.

As an example: So you may be able to sell for $1.00 the 7000 pt contract which you owe ~ $6000 ($0.85/pt). You will not get any money but you'll be out from under that $6000 you owe. BUT if you owe more than that it is very unlikely you'll be able to sell it.

Hope that helps
