Either in II or RCI, there are so many to choose from for the dates im looking at (mid april).

Grand View
Desert Club Resort
Woldmark Las Vegas - Tropicana
Cliffs at Peace Canyon
Club de Soleil
Desert Paradise Resort
Marriotts Grand Chateau
Monarch Grand Vacation - Cancun
SVC at Desert Rose Resort
Tahiti
Tahiti Village
Suites at Polo Tower
Villas at Polo Tower
Westgate Flamingo Bay

I know NOTHING about Vegas TSharing.

It would be me, DH and Dbaby (2.5 yo)

Looking for a GREAT pool area. Doesnt have to be on the strip bc we wont be gambling alot. We will get a car for day trips.

But would be nice to be able to walk to something with the baby in the stroller.

Ive checked the review already, but most of these are very close.

Thanks!!

We've stayed at the following.

HGVC - Hi Rise w/ Beautiful units and great pool. On north end of strip but away from busiest sections.

Cliff's at Peace Canyon - Residential style 2 story condos (1 up/ 1 down) in residential area. Very relaxing w/ nice pool. Great retreat from Vegas chaos but short ride from strip.

Grand View - BIG Hi rise complex. Lots of buildings. All units are lockoffs. Using 2 together for 2 bdrm is great for 2 couples, but layout isn't warm and fuzzy for 1 big family. It really is just two units with a common entrance vestibule. Pool is plenty nice enough. It's south of the strip but still on S. Vegas Blvd. Next door is South Point casino complex, with movie theatre, restaurants, bowling etc. It's just a walk across the street.

We'd happily return to any of these locations again. If you've been to Vegas before, it's really a matter of what you plan on doing and where you want to be relative to downtown. BTW, the Club Solei is way east of the strip, a bit off the beaten path.

Update:

This got me thinking again about being a snowbird next year. We like the Vegas area more than Florida. The available trips to national parks for hiking and siteseeing are fabulous. We don't gamble but love the availability of various shows on the strip. The Cliffs at Peace Canyon almost always has availability and would feel like you rented someone's condo for a month or two. It really doesn't feel like a TS. 2 bdrm units go for less than 10 TPU's. I'm not sure why more snowbirds don't head to the southwest instead of Florida.

Cancun has a very nice pool area - but remember unless you're going LATE in April - like the last week - most pools are shutdown in Vegas. They may keep one main one open but any other smaller ones/features tend to be offline until they are fairly certain of warm weather.

I didn't see Wyndham Grand Desert on your list but it also has a nice pool area with kids features & a great location to get to almost anything (both by walking & with a car). The Marriott, while it shares the location near the Grand Desert and has great units, has NO decent pool facilities. If thats important you'll want to avoid that one.

Finally don't even consider the Westgate. It is in a poor area and isn't much of a "resort" except in name. I've never been to the Tahiti's but they seem to offer a good pool area. Club de Soleil has only a couple plain pools - no real kids features.

Tahiti Village has a nice 'feel' for families. Good pool area with a lazy river. It would require a car to fully enjoy the 'Vegas' activities, though they have a shuttle to the Strip.

Grandview is good too- except the pool area is pretty ordinary. Handy having South Pointe next door. Also has a shuttle.

Cancun is OK. Pool is nice, but the rooms are sort of weird. The kitchen is of little use.

Polo Tower is high rise on the Strip. Better suited to adult/gaming/night life.

Desert Club is walking distance from the mid-strip.

I really don't think a Strip place is appropriate for a 2.5 y.o. (but then as a 65 y.o. I don't think it's too cool either)

All the big attractions on the Strip and downtown have parking garages so you can go where you want and avoid the crowds and strip-joint leaflet slappers on the sidewalk.- There are indoor 'mall/attractions' on both sides of LV Blvd where you might enjoy walking with the youngster in the stroller. People in costume, automated fountains, lots of 'retail therapy.'

Based on what you say, I can't recommend any one over any other, but if you have a car, it's easy to see what you want to see. You won't spend hours in the car, but stuff is spread out enough that you won't want to walk between places where to want to be.

HGVC at the Flamingo is our favorite. We've owned there for several years. It's just behind the Flamingo Hotel & Casino, easy access away from the strip by car, easy access to the strip by foot.

HGVC on the Strip is our next favorite choice. It's on the north end of the strip, across from the now closed Sahara. There's another bankrupt half-built monster of a casino right across the street too, so the view isn't the best at the moment. But the resort itself is great, has easy access to the freeway and the rest of Vegas without the hustle and bustle of being on the crowded part of the strip.

We've also stayed at The Grandview on the far south end of the strip next door to the South Point Hotel & Casino and just up the street from the new M Resort. The Grandview doesn't have much of a pool to speak of like the others, but is a nice clean resort, definitely "away from it all".

I would recommend Tahiti village. since you don't gamble it is nice to stay at a resort without gambling. The pools are great, they have a lazy river and another large pool. there is a Denny's restaurant on site that our kids loved. You are right at the end of the strip so you are close to the action. the units are nice make sure you get the one bedroom with the full kitchen if you want a kitchen since they have 1 bedrooms with limited kitchens too. It is a great resort and you don't feel like you are in vegas but you can be if you want to since you are right there. Great family resort.

In a lot of ways, Tahiti Village could be just what the OP is looking for.

One caveat: it is close to and right under the glide path to/from one set of runways of the airport. Depending on which runways are active, there might be some significant airplane noise. I'm a bit of an airplane junkie, so looking up at their greasy bellies at they glide over with their gear down is not unpleasant, but ymmv.

We stayed at Tahiti Village right after it opened a few years ago and it was nice. At that time we didn't notice the plane noise, but it was in November. They did have a shuttle to the Strip. We did not answer the phone since they were really pushing sales at that time. If we were taking Grandkids to LV, it would be high on our list to consider.

Desert Club

I would recomment the Desert Club . It is formerly Summerbay but Orange Lake Resorts took it over last year. This is a fantastic resort. I am an owner there and stay no where else when I visit Vegas. It is a block from Harrah's and Imperial Palace and the strip . It offers shuttle service to the strip and fremont st. One tip try and stay in the back in the higher numbered buildings. These are the newer units. Enjoy your visit to Vegas... One more tip see Legends in Concert at Harrah's . This is a great show at a great price.

ABOUT SNOWBIRDING IN LAS VEGAS:

I know people who do this, however there is a big reason why people choose Florida instead of Las Vegas. Florida's weather is moderate. Las Vegas is high desert. This means that we do have times that we go below freezing at night (even "hard freezes" where you must protect plants and water pipes) and even a bit of snow every few winters. People generally don't swim in the winter here, and almost all pools are outdoors.

That said, if you can deal with it, as many can, it is a great spot for a few months when the crowds are down, unlike Florida, which is very crowded during the same period.

I would echo the recommendation for the Desert Club. We are owners there and have taken children there (the youngest being 1). They have several small pools that will meet your needs for a pool. The location is great as you can walk to the strip without too much difficulty or take a shuttle (with your stroller) to various strip locations and back to the resort if you don't feel like walking at that point in time.

The other recommedation would be Tahiti Village. I have toured the property but never stayed there. The pool area looked great and the rooms were nicely appointed. My only reason for not staying there is that it is too far to walk to enjoy the strip and all it has to offer.

I love staying at my Desert Club time share.

Nice kitchen, bedrooms, baths, TV's etc. The only odd thing was the angle of a the TV if your space had a fireplace in the living room.

For a great pool, I like HGV Flamingo and Tahiti Village the best. The Flamingo has the best location for a real Vegas experience. You also get to use the huge Flamingo Hotel pool. Tahiti Village has a nice tropical and relaxing atmosphere, but its a shuttle or car ride to the center of the strip. Depends on the mood.
