For the first time after all these trips we drove north of Kaanapali and discovered the Napili Coast . In a word, amazing!! Honalua Bay was absolutely beautiful as were a number of vistas all along the Napili Coast. It's like a mini Road to Hana but only 15-20 minutes up the road.

I also saw a number of Maui timeshares, as we drove around that I had only seen or heard about previously. I'm going to take a drive for a closer look if I get a chance.

We started by stopping at the Napili Market which had the best blueberry and cranberry orange muffins we've had anywhere. Also we bought this huge Boars Head hoagie that fed the whole family with a big hunk left over.

We didn't find the entrance to Napili Beach but did find Fleming, Honalua Bay and the spouting hole? which were beautiful photo ops.

Joe, that's a great tip -- I've not been to Napili Coast but I will add it to the list!

I hope you're having a great time out there....

Best,

Greg

If you keep driving about 20 minutes past Honokahua Bay, you'll get to Nakalele Blowhole which is also amazing. Don't get too close though.

We love Napili Bay and would love to stay there sometime in the future. We've had great times boogie boarding with our kids and watching dozens of turtles feeding up close along the rocks bordering the beach - and lunch at the restaurant isn't too shabby, either. The beaches up north of Ka'anapali are definitely worth exploring!

Napali is magical. I started the hike and got to the first beach after about an hour. Great hike. Would love to do the whole thing one day.

Breakfast at Napili Shores

Try breakfast at the little cafe at the Napili Shores resort. Good food and a million dollar view.

Gazebo Restaurant at Napili Shores

I second the recommendation to stop at the restaurant at the Napili Shores condominiums (The Gazebo Restaurant). Even if you find a long wait line (which is usual), the line moves pretty reasonably and the food and view is well worth the wait. Many times you will catch a view of the sea turtles bobbing up and down in the water right off the shore. Oh, oh, this is making me anxious to get back to Maui and those fabulous macadamia nut pancakes!! :whoopie:

Napili Shores was the first timeshare I ever stayed in and it was a great introduction to timeshares and the reason that I've stayed in them ever since. Glad to hear the area is still gorgeous 25 years later. :D

Maybe I need to go back and refresh my memory. ;)

And those people are too close with their back turned towards the sea

Someone gets washed in toe ocean there and/or at the Olivine Pools nearly every year.

Be careful around the ocean :deadhorse:
