Can anyone tell me the prevailing prices for the Myrtle Beach Marriott? We're interested in late May timeframe.
Thanks in advance!

rates for Myrtle Beac Marriott

If you are referring to the Marriott at Grande Dunes, next to Marriott OCean Watch, the rates are: Ocean view room:$179-199 per night. Ocean front room:$209-219 per night.

Late May is during the platinum season so I'll give you the prices that I have for platinum. The pricing is from early November 2005. These prices are probably not current but they will give you some idea of the cost.

Ocean Front $36,400 apparently now $38,400
Ocean Side $30,600
Ocean View $26,900
Garden View $22,700

According to the Marriott website, current prices range from 7,300 to 38,400. Since this indicates a 2,000 dollar increase for ocean front, it is possible that most of the other weeks have increased by two thousand dollars as well. I hope this helps.

I was interested in the timeshare, not the hotel.
Just thinking whether it would be worth it to us to buy in for Memorial Day week each year.
Thanks for the input!

Two things. Memorial weekend falls in the Gold Season, I believe, so prices are substantially less. More importantly, unless you are Biker, you may want to consider a different week. The week before Memorial Day is a National Biker's week and there are tens of thousands of bikers buzzing all over Myrtle Beach. I was at Ocean Watch last Memorial weekend and it was Black Bikers Week. I had people pounding on my door at 3AM looking for their buddies. We also had some of the bikers taking over pool chairs when we went to the room for lunch. At restaurants, several people asked why were visiting at this time. The simple answere was I didn't know and you should definitely be aware of this if you are interested in buying the Gold Season to go that week.

floyddl,

Memorial week is during platinum season and not gold. Platinum begins the 3rd week of May.

OK, I didn't realize that they extended the season that far. Not surprising since they are squeezing all they can out of the views as well with 140 OF rooms which is twice as many as OS rooms. They are maximizing the revenues on this resort.

Garden view

How far a walk is it to the beach from "garden" view condos?
I'm so surprised at what you said about biker week. We were in MB last year in N. Myrtle and we left the day the Black Biker week got started, and the traffic on the main road was terrible, but as quiet a neighborhood as Marriott is in, who would have thought!

I am guessing, since they are not started yet, that he walk from Garden View to beach will be approximately 250 yards.
