My purse was stolen from my grocery cart

I have a van. I load my groceries into the area behind the front seat, on the driver's side (there are bag hooks on the back of the seat). First thing? I put my purse on the floor immediately to the right of the driver's seat but in back, where I can reach it when I get in. Then I load my groceries. I then relock the car, and take the grocery cart back to the corral. Oh, and I put my car keys in my pocket before I load the groceries.

Works for me.

Isn't it a shame that we have to live our every-day lives with such concern and cunning? Looking out for our personal safety when we used to take it for granted?

They got her!

The woman and her boyfriend (she stole my purse, he drove the get-away car) are now in jail! No bail. They've stolen from over 20 people and/or homes in our county, so the state police were on them and able to arrest them after a 2 hour stand off in his mother's house. They gave up peacefully. Paying for drugs was thier motivation. I'm praying for them to get clean, get some sense or get put away. God will be the judge. It took 3 months, but worth the wait to know they're no longer loose in the public arena.

That's good that they got them. It's amazing what drugs can/will do to people. The sad thing is sometimes it starts innocently enough (pain killers after surgery or other legitimetly perscribed medication).

The same thing happened to a friend of mine several months ago. I've started carrying a purse that I can wear cross-body (which is what I use when traveling anyway) and just keep it on while I'm grocery shopping.

One more purse theft prevention tip

Don't leave your purse where it is visible through a window, either in your car or in your home or while traveling.

Glad they got them. I never worry about my purse in the grocery store because I send my husband to do all of the shopping. :hysterical:

I'm really glad they got them. It's a shame that we have to be even more aware of things around us now, things we used to take for granted. Hard times bring out the desparation in some I guess.
