Over 24 years ago, I worked a contract job for a start-up that pushed content to mobile phones via SMS. The data center was being built here in TX, but the R&D lab was in Ottawa (Bells Corner in Nepean, actually). I spent many weeks there several times. We would go on our breaks to a little stand-alone walk up Tim Horton's.

I loved their coffee (I drink mine black, straight-no chaser;)) I've found that I can order K-cups from Walmart. While the K-cup may not give the best cuppa, if I select a 6oz shot (X2), strong brew in my insulated travel mug, it's pretty good. As I'm the only coffee drinker in the house, it is probably the best option because even a 4 cup drip machine is too much.

For me, I don't mind hanging out at a coffee shop occasionally but rarely do and never by myself. I'm usually buying some beverages and enjoying someones company. The last time was at a teahouse to try boba tea which was pretty good but not a daily thing I could ever get into. I'm a Folgers brewed in a Mr Coffee guy and like four to six cups in the morning every morning. For about a year I was off all coffee and that was difficult.

Some gas station coffee is pretty good. It depends on the manager. If they regularly flush the stale coffee and clean the urns, it can be drinkable at a reasonable price. I like QT (Quick Trip) the one in our town is always clean and well stocked.

I'm not a coffee drinker at all (like the smell, cant stand the taste), but a Tim Horton's coffee is often ordered as a 'double double' in Canada -that is 2 cream, 2 sugar. In fact if you say to somebody 'pick me up a double double' they know you mean a coffee!
The town near us (Orillia ON, pop. 31,000+) has 9 Tim Horton's restaurants plus there are a couple just 'drive thru' locations with no eat in area. Many towns/cities are saturated with Tim Horton's. It is too bad Tim Horton didn't live to see how successful the restaurants became.

I see in our travels that Timmies is expanding into the USA and I guess trying to compete with Dunkin Donuts.

This past winter my sons got into timbits while we were there. Sure went up in price from when I remember 20 for $2. Too bad they sold out.

QT is the bomb! Best run gas station/convenience store. Truly the best! I'm always impressed with their staff - they are ALWAYS doing something, like cleaning up the place. And, what is it they say after you pay? "See you next time." Love QT!!

I am also the only coffee drinker in my house but occasionally my DD stops by and will have a cup. I have this ninja coffee maker. You can do hot, iced small cup large cup pot etc and you don't have to use any kind of pod.

We were Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee drinkers, but
Fresh Market started selling it as a blend (the horror).
I just found that I can get the pure stuff on Amazon!

I can't remember the last time we had gas station coffee. It would have been on a road trip in the morning so I'm thinking McDonalds is about it. I like their coffee and McGriddle sandwich.

When we were doing Kcups I really liked the Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee. It really is one of the best coffee's, imo.

MickyD's makes a decent cuppa. I don't care for their fru-fru coffee drinks though.

I like drip brewed coffee well enough, but I don't go through it fast enough to keep even a small amount going stale. I used to grind my own from beans to extend the life of the coffee, but I've found that the K-cups offer the best option for me.

I have the same issue so I bought a vacuum sealed jar and grind 8 or 12 oz at a time and keep it in the jar.
