This morning one of my grand daughters gave birth at home. They had planned on this because of covid 19 concerns. Everything went well. Every thing was natural. My wife helped deliver Ky. I was able to hold him for about 20 minutes.

I thought if he liked to fish we could call him Ky-yak. If he liked martial arts we could call him Ky-ya. Ky is Hawaiian for Ocean so I'm thinking Ky-Yak as my first choice.

So I officially made greatness today, lol.

Congrats, GG! Great name. (And to be correct, it's spelled "Kai.")

Thanks Dave. It's Ky. I think Kai is Japanese for Ocean.

Bill

There is no Y in the Hawaiian alphabet. So maybe it's the other way around? I named my cat Kai specifically because it is the Hawaiian word for ocean. :)

@easyrider Actually it would seem we are both right. The Japanese word for ocean is Kaiyō.

Dave, I was just corrected by my wife and it is Kai. I was set on Ky yak kind of like Kayak but it didn't fly, yet anyway.

Kai is a beautiful name, and your ggrandson will wear it well. Our cat is regularly called "KaiBoy." Doesn't matter, he still ignores us. I hope you have better luck. LOL!
