Sometimes it is the little things. After being a teen-aged mom, DD was able to finish college and become a CPA. She struggled to get where she is today. She has opened her own tax practice. Yes, I am proud of her for all that. But that's not what I'm writing about here.

Last year when she was getting a bit frantic during tax season, I suggested she get a housekeeper to come in a couple of times a month. I introduced her to Norma, who worked for my boss at the time. She's been pleased with her decision and has kept her on now for a year.

Today, DD told me she asked Norma not to come over for a few weeks.
But... She had mailed a check to Norma for her usual wages. I'm getting choked up thinking of it. And that's why this momma is proud today.

Kindness is an inner desire that makes us want to do good things even if we do not get anything in return. It is the joy of our life to do them. ;)

In a sense I did the same thing but without cost. I live in a CCRC and get bi-weekly cleaning of my Apartment. Before cancelling I checked with my housekeeper to make sure my cancelling would not impact her pay. If it would have, I would have her come in but severely limited her activities...
