From a thread on Cruise Critic from someone who had paid them $1,500 for a discounted cruise on one of those "free" cruise certificates handed out by car dealers, lenders and timeshare salesman, MVI is out of business. This particular person claims to have paid them $1,000 for final payment on a heavily discounted cruise that the payment was never forwarded to the cruise line. In order to keep their cruise, they had to cough up another $1,000 paid directly to the cruiseline.

We had done business with this outfit once and had a terrible time with them. They typically require a deposit and a range of travel dates from you. They then are supposed to get back to you to let you know when your reservations are. We had to chase them for close to (maybe over) a year to get out "free" trip.

If you have received a certificate for a "free" or discounted trip, I wouldn't send them any money before looking into it further. In fact, if it were me, I'd shred the certificate whether they were in business or not.

Hopefully no one on these forums is going to be left holding the bag.
