A soft drink truck was engulfed in flames in Death Valley last Thursday, marking the fourth vehicle fire in the California national park in just over a month.

The driver was not injured, but the truck was “burned to the ground” on state Route 190 near Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes, according to a news release from the National Park Service. Firefighters speculated that overheated brakes caused the blaze.

Vehicle fires have become an increasingly common problem in Death Valley. Six have happened in the area this year, including two this month.
I wonder what it would be like if an EV with lithium-ion batteries had such an incident?

It would have been breaking news on all of the main network channels most likely. They might not have enough water on the trucks to put it out so it would just burn until it burned out giving reporters plenty of time to speak of the lithium long flame being hard to extinguish with regular fire suppression apparatus. There might be a tourist roasting a hot dog in the lithium fire claiming it has better heat than a BBQ which makes for a better hot dog. :ROFLMAO:
