I just did a search in II for the Tucson area and something new (to me) popped up... The Arizona Adventure Package, a week in three different resorts in Arizona, 2 nights in the Varsity Club in Tucson, 2 nights at Kohl's ranch in Payson, and 3 nights at Bell Rock Inn in Sedona. They are for early Sept this year (1500 DRI points) and 2 weeks in July '09 and even at full value they are cheap, only 3000 DRI points. Packages like this would be very interesting for a touring vacation. I used DRI points as the trader to do the search.

Has anyone seen any other packages for other areas? These are clearly not high season 5 star resort weeks but for a touring vacation "clean and neat" is more than enough.

I can think of a lot of places that this would be a wonderful way to visit. Hope this is just the start of a new program.

You'd think we would have gotten an email of some sort announcing a new benefit.

DRI members got an announcement that DRI had negotiated short-term stays with II. (DRI and II are apparently working very closely these days.) When we (DRI-members) log into II for exchanges using DRI points we see a button for short-term stays. Some resorts release 2 and 3 day chunks of time and these show up in the search. I don't know if this button shows up when using other trading currency, like ACs, I don't have any. I would think not if ACs can't be partially used.

What I am wondering is whether or not these multiple stays within one week are part of that deal. I wouldn't think so since they are still a week and you should be able to trade it for any other applicable week. That's why I posted the note. I am wondering if these are only showing up in DRI / II searches or if everyone sees them, and if there are more of them.

The Arizona Adventure is not a new item in II - I have seen it before in both exchanges and as Getaways - but for an exchange I can only see it with my lowest-quality resort so I suspect that the quality of those 3 resorts is relatively low. Especially the Bell Rock in Sedona.

Edited to add: This Arizona Adventure has nothing to do with points - it's a week (at different resorts) available to anyone through II.

Really? I was under the impression that it was II that took their weeks inventory and (probably with the resorts OK) split it up. I figure this because I can see a week in II inventory Sat-Sat and can book it. I can go back to short stays and book say Sat-Tues, but Fri-Mon isn't there.

The three resort Arizona adventure has been around for a while.

It lets you attend presentations in three different resorts. Three different powersellers getting a chance to take your money :whoopie:

All kidding aside, it is a great way to see the sights in Arizona!!!!

Whoever spits the week up for short stays, the effect is the same. But it appears from these responses that the multi-resort weeks are not new and are not related to the DRI short stays. It would be nice to be able to filter just these multi-resort weeks at a higher level, say regional, to plan road trips.
