It seems like a regular occurrence that I see a movie advertised on tv, then nothing. Some time later, maybe even a long time, the adds reappear, and the movie comes out. I assume that there was a problem - maybe not scoring high enough with test audiences, but does anyone know?? I'm just curious ~ Ron :ponder:

Maybe you live in too small a market for early bookings. The film companies, rightly or wrongly believe that they should open in big cities first, then trickle them down to smaller places.

This used to make sense when they could book the first 35 mm prints out of the lab onto a few screens, then make more for the big roll-out. Now though, with digital distribution, making copies for many theaters is quick. So they just are following their old patterns.
