Marriott's Mountainside or Summit Watch for a one night/day stay in late June for 6 on the way from SLC to Jackson Hole?
Thanks in advance for any comments!

Summit Watch if you are interested in easy access to shops and restaurants right outside your door. Mountainside if you are choosing for the kids as they would likely have fun on the mountain coaster ride, etc next to Mountainside.

That looks really fun too! I’m hoping both are open 7 days a week - mountain coaster is, it was unclear about alpine slide. Thank you so much for this info!

A few in S and VA, a single resort in NC, MD, PA, and UT, plus Jamaica and the Bahamas
timeshares don't particularly make great 1 night stays because you often can't check in before 4-5pm and often have to check out by 10 am. If you are arriving late and leaving early than it really doesn't matter. They both have nice beds. You won't have much time to use the amenities. If you want to wander into town than Summit would be better. If you want to be able to spend some time in the area and still want a kitchen, I always consider a residence inn that you can check in by noon and sometimes even earlier and depending on status check out as late as 2pm-4pm.

I agree, but there is times when the 1 night stay works well. For us, when we’ve had to fly in/out of Fort Lauderdale when staying at Ocean Pointe in Riviera Beach, we’ll book 1 night in FLL because the points are cheaper than paying for a hotel room near the airport. We also booked 1 night at Ko ‘Olina when family we were with wanted to see Pearl Harbor but we were staying on Maui. Made flying in and out a little easier. We didn’t have to rush the Pearl Harbor your and got to relax in a heat resort after the day was done

this family is using it as a rest stop on their way to Salt Lake City. If the points are less than the cost of a hotel room for the night, it’s a good use of the DC.

The new southwest flight schedule has us arriving at 8pm instead of 3pm which is how they run those flights the rest of the year. Not enough time to make a 3.5 hour drive, but enough to do a few hours in the adventure park the next morning. Gotta keep the adult kids doing active things - they have way more energy than I do.

You’re getting into SLC 8pm? It maybe close to 10 before you get to PC. You’ll want to be at Summit Watch since any of the restaurants still open will be practically outside your door. There will be almost nothing at Mountainside.

Is the coaster and alpine slide a long ride from summit watch?

Is it quite a bit better? With the June weeknight price of 200 points for a 2bedroom to sleep 6 people in 3 rooms I was thinking cheaper than 2-3 hotel rooms. We’re arriving at SLC at 8 pm and then leaving for Jackson Hole Springhill suites sometime the next day, for 5 days (using two 5 -day travel packages thanks to our very informative TUG members). It would be nice to do the mountain coaster, unless that’s totally out of the way.

Going from the SLC airport to Park City is like 45 minutes in the wrong direction. Your heading east. If you head to Ogden, you’re heading north by about an hour.

Can’t argue with using points to save money but I’d also be concerned about time too. you’ll have to check out at 10am at the resorts.

That is about twice the distance out of the way that I thought, thanks for catching that Steven. Enough that I think we will schedule the park city stay next summer, hopefully retired by then! Thank you for your comments.

All the adventure rides are open daily by June 15th so you will be fine for late June. Stayed there June 14th-21st this year and everything open 7 days.
