Mother's Day is next Sunday. How are you handling gifts this year?

My Mom passed many years ago, so I have only my daughter and sister to consider. Ironically, both of them also have birthdays this week. My sister is staying with me, and my daughter lives in another city, which complicates the issue. I decided it was easiest to order flowers online to be delivered to the both of them on their birthdays. The flowers will still be viable on Mother's Day.

How are you dealing with this situation?

Dave

We will be having my mother over for breakfast, as per tradition. We are way past the gift stage. We have everything that we need (both my mom and I). I think that my husband is sending flowers to his mom. I may try to talk him into giving her a Kindle unlimited subscription instead. I gave one to my dad for his birthday and he loves it. It is hard to find something that he loves, so this is a minor miracle!

I asked my kids to arrange for a family portrait this year - my birthday is in the fall, so it will be a two-for-one for them, although I am sure that we will pay, which is no big deal. I just want the photos :) . The big issue will be finding time together, but we'll figure out something.

My mom passed last year so no need to send flowers as I did to her every year. I was also blessed that I could spend the last few Mother's Day with her live.

I usually get cards from my dds. Dh claims I not his mother so he usually doesn't do anything special. Not sure this year what will happen.

I usually just wish my deceased mom a Happy Mother's Day and go do something physical outside with my kids. Since neither of my kids live with me, I am taking a rain check and we'll go on a hike or something whenever our state allows us to all get together and do that.

My daughter works at a floral shop. She had been on furlough until last week, but has been called back to help with all the Mother's Day flower orders. The shop itself isn't open but they are doing deliveries. It's their second biggest day after Valentine's. They have missed prom season which is also big and all the funerals are on hold. So I'd endorse flowers as a gift!

It's my other daughter's first Mother’s Day with her 1 month old baby. Hope her husband remembers!

I just realized it was this Sunday.....I thought it was the following for whatever reason.
My mom has always loved bakery items. I think she knows every bakery in a 50 mile radius of her house! But, they have all been closed for a while. She confessed the other day she has been eating Oreo's instead. (much different from the usual high end stuff she gets) Last weekend I found an Italian baker that ships items, so I ordered some. Now hoping they get in on time since it is a week before I thought it was!
