Have you done this?
I emailed the conceirge at Mayan Palace and they were very prompt and helpful but I don't know if this is true or not...
I have to stay my first night in Mexico at a VRBO in Playa del Carmen. My timeshare week starts the next day. The concierge said I can use MP's *free* shuttle to get to them even though I won't be staying. Then I can get a cab or the ADO into Playa. I read on a previous post, which I can't find now, that a person used the shuttle but was then charged and had to dispute it and it was a pain. I'm sure not many of you have had to do this and it may just end up being a hassle.
Next question, have you rented a car right at the Mayan Palace? They use Alamo. Have you found them to be comparable price to say the airport? insurance? We are struggling with the car vs. no car dilemma!
So many of you don't rent a car but for us it will be a $400-$600 to do tours. How do you do it?!!!
Thanks for any input. We leave in 4 weeks and I've never been so disorganized for a trip!
