Well good and bad news. The bad news NCL, Carnival and Royal Caribbean cruise lines have all cancel their cruises until the end of November 2020.

The good news, You can still board an airplane and fly to the Caribbean.

The Bahamas & Jamaica are the only two (2) Islands, we will not visit again. The people are just rude and very unfriendly. Now this is only my opinion only.
There are some in our small circle that loved those two (2) Islands.

Have never had an issue with rude people in the Bahamas. Quite the opposite. At any resort I’ve stayed at and in the local community the people in the hospitality industry have been overly friendly. In the community also friendly. Now DR, that’s another story. No matter where you go they have been miserable, from my experience.

Agreed. Aruba has high cases but low deaths. Especially when you compare it to the Bahamas. I’m hopeful the thanksgiving trip I’m taking works out

Yes but with a LOT of restrictions as outlined in the article. They are also now allowing people on the QRP program, expats with permanent residence status and non-citizens who are land/home owners or have a long term lease to return, but also with a lot of restrictions and a 10 day quarantine in their home upon arrival. Everybody must have the Belize Health App on their phone and their whereabouts are reportedly monitored. Several Expats have already been fined or picked up by local police for not quarantining and after a second offence they will be asked to leave the country.
Phase 4 (land borders open, regular tourists who can stay where they like, cruise ship visits, shops, restaurants & bars fully open) is expected to start in January but with the ever increasing number of cases (2496 as of last evening) I wouldn't be surprised to see that delayed which would be devastating to their economy which is heavily based on tourism.

This thread so far has been about the Caribbean travel protocols to get into the Caribbean. I am wondering now what the response will be from the Caribbean countries that are heavily reliant on tourism and those that receive a lot of Canadian tourists. With the new regulations regarding requiring a negative PCR test 72 hours before returning to Canada, how many places in the Caribbean will be willing and/or able to provide that testing in the interests of encouraging people to return. Personally since Aruba has been requiring testing on arrival for sometime, I am hoping they can now provide the testing for travellers returning home.

Unfortunately due to the CDC Irresponsible and useless testing measures, the travel industry will continue to be crushed.

Back in December the CDC said asymptomatic people do not need to be tested. A month later; everyone must be tested to come back into the country.

I would suspect the rapid rise of Covid 19 variants, which could derail our efforts to achieve herd immunity, may be part of the rationale for testing. I'm just thrilled to be able to travel.
