Monday check-ins?

20+ years with MVC and this is news to me. I got an II exchange into DSV1. Didn't realize it right away but it was a Monday check-in.

I actually had a Request First in the system. Browsing around yesterday morning looking to see what was available I found DSV1 during the timeframe that worked. Thought it odd that it was sitting there without a computer match. I grabbed it for a friend's 35th Anniversary trip. Later I realized it was a Monday check-in. I had multiple options on my request but no specific check-in days restricted for the DSV1 property.

Still not sure why it wasn't a direct computer match.

I don't think pending requests will automatically match to Thursday or Monday check ins. Only for Friday, Saturday or Sunday. I've seen @Dean mention this in the past.

I've had on-going searches and saw the inventory that I requested. So, I manually booked it using a different week. Then, maybe 18 hours later I got a match with my on-going search. So, I had to cancel the double booking.

So my "take" on this is that matches may be a "batch process" and the inventory shows up before the batch process occurs.

The II rules say you will be automatically matched to Fri-Sun and they will contact you for anything else. I've always wondered if they actually followed their own rules in this regard. They should have held it and contacted you but we've all seen things sitting there that should have matched but didn't. I've had 2 different times when II contacted me to see if a match they'd held was ok that was the EXACT option in my search and was not a Thu or Mon and not short notice where it should have matched automatically.

IIRC they are supposed to ask you for under 60 days unless you give them other instructions. I know this is not always how it works though as I've had matches under 60 days without additional instructions otherwise.
