Molokai This Weekend.

My daughter made it last night and we hit the Paia FishMarket and pretty much went to bed. I am still working today and a half day tomorrow. My son comes in tomorrow early afternoon.

We were talking when she got in and realized it has been just under two years since we have been together. She moved from Florida to Denver last year so she didn’t make her annual trip to Wisconsin. She says she will probably make an annual trip to Hawaii from now on.

We leave for Molokai Saturday morning and return to Oahu early Monday afternoon so they will have a week to check everything out here.

My wife and daughter went to check out an apartment is in the same building as ours. This one has a lanai. Hope it works but here is a short video of what $1,700 a month gets you in Waikiki.

Only a half a day at work today. My son gets in at 2:30pm.

Of course I go to work this morning so I start my car and the battery is dead. That was a two hour pain. Now I have to verify that my alternator is fine. Which I think it is. The battery is over 4 years old and Wisconsin winters take their toll. But my check engine light is on now too but I think that is just because we pulled the battery. I had to make an appointment to have it checked and decided I may as well get my oil changed to. So I have that set for Tuesday.

Hopefully, they can plan a few things in the morning while I am getting that done.

My son messaged me that he made it to Madison. He got done with work at 2am then had to be in Madison by about 5:30am. He said the roads weren’t good because of course it was snowing. But he made it and landed in Denver an hour ago. So hopefully he can sleep on that long flight to Honolulu.

What a start to the day.

We rent for $1700 a month in Castro Valley, I rather be in Waikiki or anywhere else for that matter! I personally hate NorCal and I am counting the days to our escape.

We do like the convenience of Waikiki that’s for sure. I thought my wife was going to love this because of the lanai but she likes ours about 20 floors higher.

We made it to Molokai with plenty of time to get to the sidewalk sale and show them around Kaunakakai.

We stopped and got some grocery’s and headed back to the condo. My wife took a nap and her hip has been bothering her so The kids and I took a walk around the resort and hung out by the pool for a while. We say a few whales out flapping and spouting.

When we got back she was up so we went down and BBQ’d some steaks. We enjoyed a nice dinner on the lanai. The weather has been perfect. We stayed on the lanai well past dark. Great first day. Both kids actually are liking Molokai so far.

Tomorrow we head over to Halawa Valley and then around to the West side.

I forgot to mention, there was an open house here at WaveCrest in our B building. We went through it and my daughter took this video

Yep, this was a one bedroom and they are asking $155,000. My wife really liked it. She liked how there were two entries to the bathroom.

We made it back to Oahu and the kids wanted to take an island tour. It was great, my wife got us Groupon deals and I even got to enjoy it without driving around. We got a little history lesson too.

My son just left, he wanted to hit the town tonight so we’ll be out most of the night in Waikiki.
