We go to Hawaii every year and always go to Honolulu. This year we will spend one week on another island. Do you prefer mmo or mkw? We are a family of 5. Me, dh and 3 boys. 8, 6 and 4. Thanks for any help you can provide.

I think that there is more to do at MMO/MM1 (Maui).

IIRC, both MMO and MKW are converted hotel rooms. So the 1 BR has 2 baths, and the 2 BR has 3 bathrooms. We stayed at MMO last April and loved it and the rest of the Kaanapali area. Although we had a rental car, we took the trolley to Whalers Village and the bus to Lahaina a couple of times. We enjoyed the scenery on the drive and best of all - - no parking issues.

I'd recommend MAW (Kauai). Marriott Waiohai Beach Club. We've stayed at the other two and purchased here. Waiohai is all 2BR, not converted hotel rooms, not lockoffs. Units almost identical to Ko Olina.
