Hi all,

I was wondering if some of you could help me. I'm currently doing some research and am looking for mix use resorts/properties that are only timeshare and whole vacation ownership. Do properties like this exist? I have found some articles online that lead me to believe that it is newer concept and that there are developments underway. Right now though, I need to find some that already exist.

So if anyone out there knows of any resorts/properties that are only timeshare and whole ownership please respond.

Thank you in advance!!

Aloha

I have owned 3 and they are all older resorts..

Island Park Village Resort
Twin Rivers
Inn at Silvercreek

Both the

Pono Kai in Kapaa
and
The Lawai Beach resort in Koloa are

mixed use resorts like you have described.

I don't recall the name, but there's on in Brigantine NJ (near Atlantic City). It has been mixed use for a while.

Also Saphire Beach Resort in Saint Martin, I believe they are mixed ownership as well (and fairly high scale, as I recall). I don't think it's a new concept, just not very common.

Kauai Beach Villas on Kauai.

Kona Coast Resort on the Big Island.

Wyndham's Ocean Walk, Daytona Beach

Also Wyndham has a few units at Reunion, Orlando

I own at two such resorts. The Whaler on Ka'anapali Beach in Maui, and Los Tules Resort in Puerto Vallarta. Both have timeshares and full ownership. It is definitely NOT a new concept.

Does not Wyndham Towers on the Grove in North Myrtle Beach also fit this category? It didn't start out to be mixed use, but is now, I believe.

Have you checked into the migration from timeshare to fractional and to whole ownership properties that has/is happening with Hyatt? Since they've changed the name of from HVC (vacation club) to HRC (residence club), that would appear to be their direction with the properties opened in the past 2/3 years and the new properties being considered.

Mountainside Resort at Stowe

You can find the timeshare rentals on RCI and the whole condo rentals on VRBO. If it is relevant to your research you may want to contact the HOA and ask how they handle the maintenance allocation between whole ownership and timeshare.

Imperial of Waikiki has had whole ownership and timeshare owners for many, many years.

Most of the "Legacy" Fairfield resorts are large developments made-up of both whole ownership and timeshares.

For example, Ocean Ridge has a Master Property Owners Associaton, that includes multiple POAs, some of which are whole ownership and some timeshares.
