Military tickets at Disney

In the past, we have gotten military tickets (DH in Navy), but you had to pick them up at Disney window and therefore couldn't pre link anything since you wouldn't have a ticket number.
This trip we paid full price for one day ticket.
If anyone knows if it works differently now, I would love to hear. May not be back for a year or so so maybe it won"t matter, hopefully the park reservation thing is not permanent.

My friends purchased the military park hopper tickets and received them right then and there. Was able to link those tickets to their my disney experience accounts. Is this different now?

Received them when and where? If it was at the park entrance, then that is the issue the OP is having. They want to be able to buy them online and get a ticket number at that time so they can link them in MDE and make park reservations ahead of time.

Sorry they purchased them on base and received them then. That way I could add them to the my disney experience and book park reservations.

Were yours military rate or the rate civilians can get on base? I think disney is much stricter with the actual military tickets that are much much cheaper And meant for active duty.

No actual military ID rates. She had to show here DOD card at the first park we entered. Then she no longer had to show ID(or be with anyone else that had those tickets) once tickets were activated. She was only allowed to buy 6 tickets at the discounted rate. They were 6 day park hoppers with expiration in Sept 2021 for $330 or so. Also did not have to use all 6 days within 14 days but had until expiration in Sept 202.

I think OP is talking about those super discounted $150 active duty military tickets. Those Disney is much more strict on - i think you used to have to show ID at the park to get.

I will have my husband look into it again when he is on base. He travels alot, so may be part of issue. But I do recall we had to pick them up at will call. Will be glad if that has changed.
