I recently stayed at the Imperial Palms in Orlando and didn't realize they did not give a mid week cleaning until I called to complain I didn't receive it. The staff there told me none of the Marriott properties in Orlando give midweek cleanings.

I know there are a lot of owners from other Orlando Marriotts on the board, so I wanted to know if this was true. Thanks.

I have not traded my Ko Olina much until lately, so I guess I was mistaken that most Marriotts had a mid week cleaning. Prior to this I have only been to Marriotts in Hawaii or Aruba which have had a complimentary mid week cleaning.

I spent 20 weeks in Marriotts (just got back Saturday) in Florida, Hilton Head, and Williamsburg. None gave a mid-week cleaning

At all the Orlando Marriott's I have stayed out, there is a list of services you can pay for. Mid-week tidy is listed. It costs.
Never have heard of it being free.

The OP is used to staying at Ko'Olina? If that is the case, I believe the Hawaii properties do offer a mid week tidy as do the European and Caribbean resorts. The Asian resorts offer a daily clean. Only the lower 48 resorts offer no mid week clean during your stay, the room is only cleaned before you check in.

My manager just got back from Grande Vista. She saved her welcome packet for me to look at. There was a price sheet for cleaning services. If you pay a cash rental rate, you get a "tidy" every day. But, if you are a timeshare owner (or points owner I would assume) you can pay for extra "tidy" cleanings or a full clean. The prices weren't horrible. I think a studio "tidy" which was making the bed with existing linen, replacing towel and loading the dishwasher was about $19 or so. The prices went up from there but even for the 3 bedroom I do not think it was much more than $50. A full cleaning was about double the price of a "tidy" but it was basically the same cleaning the rooms get when you check out, down to scrubbing the floors.

I never expect a cleaning at a timeshare. I do like how Disney gives you new towels and soaps mid week and a full cleaning every 7 days, should you have an extended stay. I rather liked that service as it usually meant we didn't need to wash the towels. Not a big deal. As far as someone cleaning our dirty room while we are there -- we can do that, vacation or not.

Yes prior to the recent stay I have only been in Marriotts in Hawaii and the Carribbean.

I own in Orlando and its been at least 5 years since owners agreed to make cleanning services as a paid option.

I understand from talking to owners of other Marriott timeshares that this is a trend across most MVCI resorts as well.

I think its a great policy! Helps better contain housekeeping fees which are one of the largest components of our MF packages.

If you pay to stay at these resorts you still receive the housekeeping services.
