I just purchased at SVV in 11/2007 I gave up my paid for timeshare at SVR which I now regret doing, I received a MF due in May 2008 even while I was told no MF would be due, I paid the charge and now I received another MF in DEC 2008. Is this legal? Do I have any recourse?

I don't understand your complaint. Maintenance fees are an annual bill. You purchased in Nov. 2007 but didn't receive the 2008 bill until May and you have now received your 2009 bill at its normal time - Dec. Were you not expecting to pay annual fees? The mods may want to move this to the Starwood forum.

SVR maintenance fees are due at different times throughout the year based on your usage week. Most (maybe all) of the other Starwood properties are due in January. My guess is that the MF you paid in May was for your usage year 2008 at SVR. The bill you received in December for SVV is probably due this month, and is for usage year 2009. Is that possible?

Did you buy resale or from the developer? For our developer purchases we've received MF bills a few months after the purchase closed for the current year, and we're now getting the MF bills for 2009.
