The following news article about the same plane was in the Belize news this morning. There are drug planes, often from Mexico, landing on remote roads or unused runways, almost every week in northern Belize.

The Belize Defense Force (federal police) saw a small plane enter airspace near Corozal (12 miles from the MX border) at dusk a few weeks ago and followed it as it came down for landing. It only took a few minutes for them to reach the landing spot and were surprised at what they found. There were many local police cars lined up along the end of the runway with their trunks open and several cars already speeding away! The cargo was of course drugs and there were lots of arrests made. Naturally the local cops who were arrested would not give up the names of the officers who had been there and left. The Corozal police chief acted surprised at the press conference announcing the firing of the officers arrested at the scene.

You mean they were not walking across or under the border wall with illegal drugs.?

Please look at the plane wing span that was no small plane. Also, just think how many flight this plane had make to the United States before it had some type of mechanical problems. :wall::crash:

Sounds as if there was some gunfire involved as well, according to this article.

And yes, that is a good sized plane. British Aerospace 125. Twin jet engine plane, with a maximum weight of about 25,000 lbs. Supposedly there is no record of the tail number on the plane: probably made up. Several aeronautics board posters are guessing the plane didn't even have a transponder (the device that allows towers and other planes to "see" you) onboard, in order to fly stealthily.
