Hello all,
I am new to selling timeshare and I have a buyer in Mexico, who is using a company called Mexcrow for the escrow portion. Has anyone used this escrow service? How can I find out if it is a legitimate firm? And lastly, they informed me that I will need to pay a Capital Goods Tariff. Is anyone familiar with that process?

Thank you so much!

Scam

There is no way you need to pay any money up front in any real transaction. There are many, many, scams that attempt to collect the taxes, the escrow fee, etc in advance and none of these are real sales, merely ways to take some of your cash.

There is a simple rule of thumb for timeshare business offers:

Anyone that asks you for an upfront fee - NO MATTER WHAT THEY CALL IT - is going to scam you.

REPUTABLE brokers take all fees out of the proceeds of the sale - AFTER the sale.

The sad truth is that they don't have a buyer - they just want your money - this is a very common ploy.

Since they are in Mexico, you will have no recourse with US courts, when the deal goes bad.

DON'T DO IT!
