Don't be so quick .... I would read this as advertising by KOALA.

The folks that started Koala are actually TUG members and have identified themselves as being from Koala. You might believe that I'm employed by them or receiving some compensation for sharing information about what they provide, but my only relationship with them is through listing availability of weeks to rent with them and fulfilling a few availability requests for Wyndham bookings. You can believe it or not, it doesn't make any difference to me - my intent is only to share the information and help out fellow TUG members. Apparently the moderators don't read postings like that as being advertising or they didn't notice it; if you like you can go ahead and report it for moderation to be sure a moderator notices it. If it does wind up getting removed due to a perception that it's advertising, I won't complain because, as I stated in the post you quoted, sharing the information is counter to my self-interest.

I'm confused. Is this because of an incorrect assumption that @Eric B is affiliated with Koala, or because of a belief that any mention of a company is perceived as advertising for that company?
Who knows what he is or anyone else is. It can be a slippery slope to allow a little.

Woof, woof!

On the other hand, folks do build up a reputation based on what they say on the internet, for better or worse. My thoughts on the matter are that an awful lot of people on TUG do provide an awful lot of information regarding services provided by commercial enterprises and we don't consider it advertising when it's complimentary about specific ones. If doing that is advertising, than we'd also have to delete every post that recommends going to any particular resort or how to interact favorably with timeshares. It is a slippery slope to characterize that kind of thing as a banned activity because it leads to the inevitable conclusion that TUG itself should be banned because it's about using timeshares and therefore is advertising for them.
