Medical POA - trigger at execution or two physicians?

I’ve seen examples of Medical Power of Attorney forms triggered at execution of signed documents and also by determination and certification of two physicians.

Does anyone have experience on which method is preferable?

Mine and the mirror on the missus are enduring. As is the financial one.

Don't you mean health care proxy though.

I chose two. I'm paranoid though.

I'm pretty sure the pros and cons are:
1 = less burden for your family or whomever has to care for you and your assets, things can get done more quickly
2 = less chance of fraud, more certainty that you really are not capable of handling this stuff yourself

I have not heard of "trigger at execution". What I do know is that whether POA is "in effect" or not, which has to do with whether the person is deemed to be lacking in capacity to make decision at that point. I have a POA document but it is not in effect as I am not mentally incapacitated for now.

On a separate part of my Advance Health Care directive, it indicates whether I want life support or not, and that is where one can specify that 2 physicians need to certify that one is terminal and no longer able to survive without life support or deemed brain dead, that such assistance be withdrawn.
