I own a 2 Bedroom with Mayan Palace but everytime I call to make a reservation I can only get a 1 Bedroom. Does anyone else have this problem ? It seems strange that they would have a shortage of hotel rooms to add to my 1 bedroom. If I'm paying fees on a 2 Bedroom and only get to use a 1 bedroom shouldn't I get a refund or something ?

I've not ever had that problem. Do you call fairly last minute when they are already booked? Like now for February or March?

If you own a 2-bedroom, you should get one. I have requested the 1 bedroom side for one week and the hotel room side for the next in order to have 2 consecutive weeks.

Thanks.
This time my reservation was last minute but last year I booked well in advance for a Nov. week. Since I don't have a use for the remaining hotel room I wonder if I can bank it with RCI to maybe get some value out of it.

Yes you can bank a hotel unit week with RCI. We often have them deposit a 2-bedroom as both a hotel unit and a 1 bedroom so we can get more exchanges in the future. You will probably be able to get a 1-bedroom with it - sometimes even a 2-bedroom.

Remember, the RCI 1-in-4 rule does not apply to MP owners if you want to exchange back to a MP or get an extra unit when taking friends. You just have to pay the exchange fee. We have done that so our friends can have their own unit when they go with us. We have also used exchanges to go to a MP (or even a Grand) to extend our vacation.

Pittle can I ask how you exchanged into the Grand? We exchanged in using RCI Points but when I called RCI I was told that the 1 in 5 rule applies even to MP owners. I was planning on using 1 of my MP weeks and exchanging into the GM again with points but was told no.

If a Grand is available, you can get it. You have to call the RCI MP number. You can also use non-MP weeks that you own and by-pass the 1-in-4/5 rule.
