Restaurants - yes. Do a search in the Mexico forum for recommendations. Eddies, Portobella, La Portena, and others.

Supermarket - no. You will need to take a taxi to either Paradise Village Mall or Walmart. I would choose the Walmart or Mega (in Bucerias).

Not to talk over Phyllis

Onsite there a several pretty good places to eat. You can get to several others by walking, and there is a OXOX store ( like a Circle K, AM PM) down that way.
Wal-mart is about a $5 cab ride and they have everything as long as you can figure out what you want using a little espanol.

We really enjoyed the shrimp feast near the beach at the GM. You can see some photos of them on our June trip photos on our site,
http://www.timeshareparadise.net/June Trip.htm

You get a kilo ( 2.2 lbs) of shrimp for around $20, enough for the 3 of us for dinner.

Have a great trip,

Greg

Be sure to go into PV one day. They have made a lot of changes downtown in the past year. You can take the bus - it takes a while, but is cheap. You can ride it as far as the Mega. On your way back to town, look for a bus that says Nuevo and you will get to the bus stop by the Sun Market. They have extended the Malecon several blocks towards the Sheraton and from what we understand, it will eventually go all the way to the Sheraton (probably just sales guy talk, but we did see some construction starting along the beach behind where the current Malecon stops.

When we stayed at the Grand Mayan Nuevo Vallarta some of the resort was closed to Sea Garden and Mayan Palace visitors.

Wallmart is the cloest big grocery store. Paradise Village is walkable but carrying stuff back would be a bummer. Not to many choices for restaurants in Nuevo, imo, but plenty in the little town of Bucerias a few miles away.

Walmart is an easy bus ride away (once you reach the bust stop), but there are certain frozen items I wouldn't want to take back to Nuevo on a bus (ice cream, for example). The one and only time we were at MP Nuevo they seemed to me deliberately making it hard for guests to use the buses.
