I am unclear with regard to a 1in4, 1in5 or whatever for MP/GM owners who exchange via RCI into the resort NOT using a MP/GR week with which to exchange.

I've read here both that we can and cannot do this and be excluded from the 1in4 rule.

Any first hand experience? I'd like to add another week for my folks to join us. However, we exchanged into Riviera Maya last year.

Thanks,
Jana

GM exchange

I'd like to know the answer to that question too. I have been told both answers, but certainly don't want to show up to check in and be turned away. Does anyone know for sure?

The 1 in 4/5 rule is waived for MP owners. Make sure you call the # for MP/GM owners at RCI. The # is 877-724-1001. I've exchanged into the Acapulco GM for next Jan. I used a non-MP deposit. Rep told me it didn't matter what kind of deposit I used.

Not to spoil a secret, but this is reason enough to be an owner IMO.

Thanks for making my day!

There is no need to be an owner. You can easily exchange into the Grand Mayans through SFX and there are no limits on how often you can go. We have done 2 exchanges to the Grand Mayan - Riviera Maya and 1 exchange to the Grand Mayan - Nuevo Vallarta in the last 2.5 years. We also have a confirmed exchange for April 2009 at the Grand Mayan - Rivera Maya. All of our exchanges were 2 weeks back to back so we have spent 6 weeks at the Grand Mayans.

This is absolutely correct. But call the number listed! As an owner, don't worry about the 1 in 4/5 rule.

We do it all of the time!
