I just submitted a TUG review on our recent stay at The Mauyan Palace Acapulco which was fantastic. Here is an advance copy and if anyone has any questions fell free to Email me or post it here. :D  ;)

"This was the nicest resort we have EVER STAYED AT. Architecture and resort layout was truly 5 star and nicer than most Ritz Carlton's that I have been to. Only disappointment was kitchen and tiny balcony. Grand Mayan had much better accommodations and next time we would go for the Grand .Great Weather the entire week 82-88 degrees.

We stayed in an older room which had dated furniture but was super clean with maid service twice a day which was great since we got fresh towels in the afternoon and then again at night. Kitchen was extremely limited but was enough to make breakfast and keep fruits, drinks and snacks in small fridge.

Beach was disappointing and does not compare to Caribbean beaches but was nice for long morning walks and viewing from the pool. We did also swim in the ocean and water was warm but very murky. Pools were fantastic and I think they have the largest pool in the world. There are large waterfalls at one end of the pool with rock formations spilling over into the next pool area which gives you a great spot for a mini waterfall message. There was always plenty of lounge chairs available and we could find a nice spot by the pool facing the beach every morning. Great sunsets from pool or beach facing ocean. Never went down to pool before 9:00 AM and there were plenty of choice spots.

Outstanding service and appearance of entire resort. Grounds, pools and lobby were all amazing. Lakes, boats, canals and bridges throughout the property. They also have a small train that's supposed to go around the property but it never worked all week. Restaurants on premises were excellent but we went to sea gardens for dinner one night based on several recommendations for " good food at reasonable prices" The restaurant at the sea garden was cheap and comparable to a cheap dinner with the same look and food. I thought the meal was the worst we had all week by far. They also have all of the amenities of a first class destination resort including great SPA ( but charged for entrance unless you were an owner). Tennis courts, 18 hole championship golf course, horse back riding and ATV on beach. all water sports ( except scuba and snorkeling are rated poor in Acapulco). Saw two excellent shows at resort which were reasonably priced considering it included outstanding dinner buffet and unlimited drinks. The resort was so outstanding we hated to leave and only went to one dinner off premises which was to Linda Vista and reserved table up front by railing over looking Acapulco Bay, Great sea food dinner and awesome views. We also did a 5 hour city tour which included panoramic views of Acapulco bay from the chapel at the top of Las Brisas as well as cliff diver show and of course shopping downtown. I went to Walmart once at the beginning of week to get breakfast food, drinks and snacks and just went to the convenience store two other times to get some additional items.

As you can tell we loved this resort which should be even better in the future since all of the old buildings are being torn down and replaced with brand new buildings. This place was fantastic but next time I will try for the Mayan Grand with the huge deck and plunge pool."
