mayan owner cant trade with RCI into mayan

I recently tried to exchange into the Grand Mayan with a different timeshare unit. RCI told me that because I am also an owner at GM, I cannot trade through RCI to get into a Mayan resort. Has anyone any experience with this. I understand that RCI is a seed for sales prospects to GM but this seems illogical and possibly illegal to deny me access because I have spent the money to become an owner.

Yes, you can. You need to call the # for MP/GM owners at RCI. The # is 877-724-1001. I've exchanged into the Acapulco GM for next Jan. I used a non-MP deposit. Rep told me it didn't matter what kind of deposit I used.

Pat is right, but you MUST use that phone number. It is for MP/GM owners. When we bought in 1999, that is the number they gave us and was applied as a sticker on our RCI book. We get the "generic" RCI book now and that number is not mentioned, but still works.
