Maui MM1 resort advice

Folks,

I just got a confirmation on request first trading my mountain view EOY Ko Olina and confirmed into Maui's HZZAF. As best I can tell that is a garden view in the Lahaina tower. The date is for 7/3-7/10.

First is that a decent view or just average. Also we were trying to score into the new towers for full kitchen so it looks like we got that. I am a bit concerned about the travel dates. Is early July still too close to what is going on right now with Covid-19? I would not want to go only to be quarantined. I got the confirmation at 2:00 this morning so I presume I still have the day to cancel.

I'm canceling my June 13 week. At this point, I'm thinking if I have to wear a mask and social distance in Hawaii, then I'll go another year. There won't be any activities, and limited places open... maybe. I would rather wait and enjoy the true experience.

See diagram lower right. If you get upper floor, outside wall looking at Hyatt, can be good. Inside low is overlooking pool and adjacent to parking lot.

I didn't think about mask and social distancing. Considering Hawaii has extended the 14 day quarantine to the end of May I can't imagine complete freedom only 5 or so weeks from the end of that.

I don't think the resort will be full and you will most likely be upgraded.

While the upgrade would be appealing having the bars and pools closed would not be. Just no way to know.

It's really hard to know what things will be like in 60 days. But "upgrades" at this resort, especially for trades, range from unlikely to never, regardless of how full the property is.

I had a floor 4/5 outside (Hyatt) view.

It was not bad. Compared to the 3br Ocean Front (OMG), it was much cooler. No roasting in the sunset.
It did have 45 deg right views of the ocean. Not bad views either.

The only bad thing was the noise: the concrete (hyatt) reflects a ton of noise back at the building. Not a problem unless you get a noisy neighbor or screaming kids etc.
I was the noisy neighbor.....
