we may be flying into Maui in July due to limited ff flight avail to HNL.

We will probably be staying in Maui for 2 nights before going to HNL to stay at KoOlina.

Looking for hotel / condo recommendations. Must be close to beach - prefer beach front. Would like swimming beach (not rocks or too rough). Also would like kitchen facilities if possible (if not - that's ok as only staying a few days).

We will be flying into OGG airport.

More than 15 years ago, my sister & I stayed at Napoli Shores. I don't think the beach was that good but the resort was nice (that long ago). I can't even remember if it had a kitchen.

Ideas?

Are you adventurous?

Pioneer Inn in Lahaina is funky, but clean (at least when I was there years ago). It's close to the ocean & right in the middle of Lahaina. Fun to people watch from the lanai. Beaches near by, not sure if within walking distance tho.

There are tons of properties on the beach, but you didn't say how much you want to spend. All the resorts on Ka'anapali Beach are ocean front.

I'd try for a 4 Star or Resort on Priceline. If you go to www.biddingfortravel.com and click on the Maui link and then look at the Hotel List at the top of the page you can see what hotels are in each group. You can't choose the hotel, but you can choose the group. With travel to Hawaii being way down, you may find something, even though it's high season. I'd reserve a cancellable back up, and in addition to Priceline, I'd post on the LMR Board at 45 days out. You can also put an Ad in the TUG Marketplace. Points owners can reserve just 2 days for you.

Thanks - great suggestion. Didn't know about that website.

I don't want to spend a lot for hotel there but do want something nice. Don't want to spend more than $150 per night including tax. I also have the entertainment book so hopefully we can find something nice - cheap. Looks like DD may take a friend so I'll have increased costs along the way.

Other suggestions?

Sheraton Maui on the beach-watch internet specials. I paid $199 less AAA discount = $189.00 for a $500 room. It was cheaper than the rate I was quoted from the resort itself when I called. It was around Feb- March that I booked it last year. I have a SPG # but am not a Starwood owner.

After months of playing with the ff tickets, I finally got 3 ff saver tickets booked- so we are set. We will definately need 2 nights in Maui.

Other ideas for a nice beachfront condo / hotel?
