Which time would you take? They are both on the edge of Whale watching, is one a better chance than the other for whales. I assume I have less chance or rain in May, right? Any other factors?

No bad choice, but I'd go with November.

Rainfall chart - shows half as much rain in May. That would be the deciding factor for me.

We love November on Maui (married there during early November) :) .

You really can't go wrong. Both are low season, lower crowds, lower airfare. I'd go twice ;) .

Have always had good luck with the weather in May.

We spent the entire month of November on Maui once. It was lovely. We did see some rain, but never all day. It never ruined our plans.
