Matecumbe Resort in Islamarado

I have been trying to get back down to the keys and just found a week in June through II at the Matecumbe Resort. I read reviews and now am not sure about this place. Does anyone out there have any comments/recommednations good or bad about this place?

I am also curious, particularly the MF. I own just down the road at the Topsider Resort and at some point would like to add another week or 2 and the prices seem pretty good at Matecumbe resort. The units seem to be motel type, either efficency or 1 bedroom in four, 2 story buildings. If you find a trade into the Topsider which are all 2 bed, 2 bath I can give you detailed information.

The Keys are usually very hard to get...

If you find something in the Keys during school vacation you might want to take it. There is probably no more than 20 resorts in the Keys. Most of the better resorts are in KW. The resorts in the rest of the Keys are more modest
but nice. Good luck!

It is strange that I can find so little information on the Matecumbe Resort. There are a few reviews on Tripadvisor and a few pictures and it does not sound like a really upscale place. Their website stinks. You can't tell much about the place. But its the Keys for heavens sake and I feel lucky to find something anywhere down there in exchange. I took it and we are looking forward to going down for some fishing and snorkeling.
