We have 4 units at Marriotts Royal Palms and are looking forward to a fun filled week with friends and family in mid-March.
I'm looking for input on room assignments as I've read that traffic noise is a bit of an issue here and we'd want to try and avoid this if possible. There will be one limited-mobility senior and 12 children in our party......I was considering asking for ground floor units so everyone can get around safely and independently. We will be using the balconies regularly so view is important.
What building(s) would you suggest? Would the ground floor units have a nice view from the balconies? Any reason the ground floor isn't a good option?
Thank you for your input.

Looks nice. We're scheduled to go to Imperial Palms the end of March. The extra room will be nice because MIL will be with us on this trip. Any advice on building/room assignment requests?

We were there in Dec. and it was very quiet everywhere in the area. The whole complex is off the main road, so I can't imagine that noise would be an issue from that. I guess if you were next to the basketball court you could get tired of hearing balls bounce ;-) We were on the pond, so that was nice...but it did put us about as far as possible from the reception area (and shop), so it was a little walk up there if we needed anything (no big deal!).

The master bedroom and bath is HUGE, our little grand daughter asked if she could come in and swim in our pool...LOL.

I spent the first week of my honeymoon in 1999 at the Royal Palms; I seem to remember both Royal and Imperial having more earth-toned exteriors. Your pictures seem to imply that perhaps they have painted in the interceding 12 years! LOL! ;)

Thanks for sharing...

Hopefully I have correctly imbedded the link from our March 2010 visit to Royal Palms. We really enjoyed our Easter trade using our MGV exchange. We were in the first building as you enter the complex, top floor, first unit on the end.

I made a mistake

I guess I had a senior moment. We stayed at, and my pictures were of the Imperial Palms, NOT the Royal Palms. Sorry for any confusion.

Thanks so much for the slides Javabean

They really gives an idea of the feel of the resort which is great when you haven't been there.
Thanks Calberry and all for the input.
I think I now have an idea which building to request.

HI,
I spent 5 weeks at Sabal in December and went to Royal a few times.

I find that first floor units can smell musty because of all of the plant material and how often they water them.
I usually go for the top floor.

Google maps shows the resort well and you can use that and the map in the resort ratings section to see what you would like.

I think the first building as you go in is great (4250-4286) as it faces south and is close to activities but doesn't face them.

The building just past the check in/activities is also good for the part close to the check in. Very open right at the pool and nice views. (4150-53,4160-63,4170-73,4182,83)

Building 43 also has nice views but is a bit closer to 535. The higher numbers have better views and are a bit farther from the parking lot.

To get 4 units together may be difficult but you could get some on low floors and some higher.

I would suggest calling soon and asking them what they can do for you. Let them know about old people and trying to keep the family together. The staff is very nice.
