We were there in early April of last year. I have posted TUG reviews for both Playa and Marbella. We love Playa, probably because we had oceanfront 3 bedroom, but we also liked Marbella, a two bedroom ocean view.
They are great places (different personalities) for travel inland from the Costa del Sol, or all along the coast. We will be going back this year.

We traded our Desert Springs for a 2 bd. at Playa Andaluza in September, 2006 and we thoroughly enjoyed it! The resort had just been built in 2005, so everything was beautiful. Very modern bathroom and kitchen facilities, marble floors in the entry and lovely decor. The beach area was lovely. Most of the time we were out on tours that we arranged with the hotel concierge. We took tours to Gilbralter and Tangiers and we rented a car for a couple of days to drive to the Alhambra Palace. It was just my husband and I, so we didn't really look into any childrens activities or hang out at the pool much. It does rank as one of our favorite vacations.

We will be there in mid Oct. then catching a transatlantic cruise from Malaga in Nov.

We were there in July 2009 and loved it! We had two 2 bedroom units right next to each other. The property is beautiful but the beach is rocky. I would not go there for a beach vacation, Aruba is for that, but to see Spain that is the perfect location. You will need a car there. We are planning to go back next year.
