Just got back from a week at the Marriott's Maui Ocean Club - Lahaina & Napili Towers... great location for a relaxing week. Aside from the weather (we had three days of rain), we had a wonderful week. We own and have stayed at the Ko Olina property which had a similar feel...but the Maui property has shopping and good restaurants in walking distance.

We did get three of the "Mugs" which I am thinking of putting on eBay... any other suggestions on where to post them? Any of you had experience in this?

Thanks.

I've seen them occasionally on eBay but I've never purchased one myself online....MoxJo just bought one second half and may have advice for you here....

Good luck!

Ebay under Marriott will do the trick. There was a Tugger that needed a bunch. I have a few also.

The mugs routinely sell for around $25 each / $50 pair on eBay.

Makes the initial cost of purchasing them onsite much more palatable when you can recover most of it by reselling on eBay.

A nice man gave me one this morning before he left. Makes the three we bought slightly less painful.

For those coming, the owners card gets you $1 off, which I read about an hour after we bought the 3.

If You are Marriott Platinum...get one free

If you are a Platinum status member of the Marriott Rewards program you can choose one of the mugs as your welcome gift. Also if you buy more at the time that you collect your mug you can buy additional mugs at $25 a piece.

The price of these mugs on ebay would have to be very cheap to make it worthwhile as I would think that postage rates would eat up a lot of the incentive to buy them away from the resort.

What is the cost of a mug purchased at the resort without any discounts?

I agree. Better to buy the mugs at the resort and then sell them on eBay after you are done with your vacation.

The mugs @ the resort are $35 plus tax without any discount. Amisco, I noticed in the add for your mugs on eBay you state that drip coffee @ Starbucks is $1.00 with these mugs. Is that correct?

Drip Coffee @ Starbucks $1 with mug.

You read that right.... if you have the mug you can buy drip coffee at the new Starbucks for one dollar at the resort. This is a significant discount against the $3.50 price for a no mug rate.

Of course you can get the regular coffee from the Marketplace for free with the mug...but I like the taste of the Starbucks coffee.

With shipping costs the eBay cups would cost between $17.50 -$25 vs. $35 at the resort....your call on whether that is a sufficient discount.
