We will be staying at Marriott Grande Vista in January, February and March (8 weeks) through a combination of points reservations and II exchanges and getaways. In II there are 2 codes, MGR & MGV. What is the difference? Also, would they keep us in the same room if we have II exchanges using both MGR & MGV codes? I would assume yes.

The difference is for units that belong to the Florida Club and those that do not. For an actual unit assignment at the resort the resort code makes no difference.

Its the unit code that you need to be worried about.

If all of your reservations are for the exact same unit type I am confident they will keep you in the same unit- but if you have multiple different unit types reserved you may have to move.

And to add to what jwalk03 said Grande Vista has several different 2 bedroom types.
The one with 2 queens in the 2nd bedroom is a designated 2 bedroom and those units are in the west village only- they will not change you out of that unit or move you elsewhere.
If you have a Bonvoy account you should be able to pull up all the reservations there and see what you have.

edited- I keep this on hand to consult when booking
The 2 Brs that are not lock offs at Grande Vista are called ‘apartment style’ and are located in the West villiage section of the resort. They have 2 queens in the 2nd bedroom. You can see that listed on the 2nd page as you confirm an exchange or getaway.
Grande Vista has 3 types of 2Br units- one of the others has 2 doubles in that 2nd br, the other has a king and sofa bed (2 balconies on that unit).
You can see the layouts of the units on Marriott.com.

Yes there are 3 different types of 2-bedrooms. The dedicated 2-bedroom, the 2-bedroom lockoff, and the 2BR part of the 3BR lockoff.

There are 2 types of each of the other sizes.

They would if they are the same unit code for all weeks, otherwise it's very unlikely as suggested above though they could if they wanted to. You might try changing any points reservations or retrading exchanges to try to get them to match up if needed.

Personally when reserving I always attempt to obtain a two bedroom lockoff (if available) when reserving a two bedroom sized unit for one simple reason: An extra refrigerator (granted it is small).

Just my preference to hold the beer, wine and sodas!
