I’m considering purchasing a Marriott's Grande Vista - Floating Platinum Week resale and was wondering on the trading ability of the property. I understand preferred weeks and need to be flexible – I was looking to have a second t/s which we could visit but also trade if we wanted to try someplace new.
Thanks for the thoughts.

We have owned a floating platinum week at GV since 12/1997. PM me and I would be happy to provide a trade history and details.

We own the type of week you are talking about. As far as I am concerned the week you reserve in the peek time is key to the trading ability. We usually book and than deposit to Interval President's week. Doing that we have traded into Aruba twice and St.Martins once over the last 3 years in February. It has worked very well for me.

We own a Platinum week at MGV and have been very happy with the trades we have done. It took us a while to understand the II system but TUG helped with that. Just wish we had known about TUG and bought resale.

How difficult is it to grab a Christmas week or New Years week in the vacationclub site for Grande Vista? I don't have the 13 mth advantage so it would be at 12 mths? Do I literally have to be sitting there waiting to hit the button?

I reserve my sister's week for her.

I would call right at the 12 month mark. While MGV is a very large resort, you would rather be safe than sorry.

Did you deposit your week first then look for the week and location to exchange or you request it first?

Hopfully JMSH remembers, this thread is almost three years old.
