IMO most 2BR units with a decent platinum reservation will probably get Waiohai before your 1BR unit.

There are MANY good 1BR units out there as well. Which one would be first in line for a trade? - Noboday knows

Imagine a prime ski week, a winter week at Aruba, a summer week in Hilton Head or Hawaii- all very good 1BR units. Then you have the sneaky traders like Horizons Branson. Summer weaks there are being offered AC's while most Marriotts are not.

Bottom line is, YES, your 1BR DSV unit can get Waiohai IF a stronger trader is not ahead of you. IMO

I believe right now, I am definitely ahead of you. Had my requests in since Dec of last year for June -Aug at any of the Hawaii Marriott's as well as a couple of others, and I am trying to trade 2 bds for 2bds. I owner at Waiohai, just not on the particular year I want to go this time. I am also trying for 3 consecutive weeks.

From what I hear also, Waiohai a higher owner occupancy, so trades are getting fewer. We shall see.

next time, try ownertrades.com - that's how I got a second Waiohai week next year, by finding another owner who wanted to trade. I swapped my Aruba week for her Waiohai week. But if you've already deposited with II, it's probably too late.

There are no 1bds at Waiohai, only Maui Ocean Club and Ko Olina. I would definitely try for a 1bd at those... you will have a good chance I would think.

I just returned from Waiohai and met up with an owner who could not get August 14, 15, 15 or August 21, 22, 23 for 2009. She said that was the first time in five years she wasn't able to pull those weeks (at either 13 or 12 mos)
I would imagine the earlier summer weeks are even harder to get.

Most people I met with while there were owners, 1 family rented from an owner and another 2 had traded in (both from NCV).
