Marriott vacation points resort availability

Hi all.
I have been wanting to buy MVC points for a while. I am trying to buy 1000 points. I have two questions.
1. What is the availability like if you only have 1000 pts? Is there anything at all available if you want to do a last min vacation? We are fairly flexible.
2. Can you rent points from other owners and book a vacation?

The availability for 1000 is no different from someone with more points. However, if you only have 1000 points, it won't show you dates / duration which require more than the 1000 points + following year's ponts, so technically 2000 points. You can only book 7 nights and longer at 13 months. You can rent points from others, up to 20K per year. It won't increase your owner benefit level but you will have enough points to book longer vacations.

I don't think you can only own 1000 points. I think the minimum is 1500.

Last minute getaway? Only at places during seasons where people don't want to travel to - summer in Phoenix and Palm Desert. It is best to book at 13/12 months out.

Destinations Escapes is the discounted short notice product, below is what is available now, you have to call to book them so they might not be available. I've not seen that much available before.

Availability in general can vary a lot according to where and when you want to travel. If you want low season in the US you'll have a lot of choice. If you want peak season anywhere it will be more difficult to book.

Yes you can rent points from other owners to book, once you have an account that uses club points.
