I have one Gold week at the Marriott Son Antem on the island of Mallorca in Spain and I am considering giving my week back to Marriott. Does anybody know if Marriott will refuse me the right to give the week back and if so will they continue to pursue me through the courts for future Maintenance Fees if I decide to just hand it back. Many thanks for your help

Depending on how quickly you want/need to sell it, Son Antem resale weeks do sell so you should be able to get at least a few thousand pounds for your Gold week if you can advertise and wait a while for a buyer to bite.
We own a Developer week there and bought a second Resale week about 18 months ago.
There are quite a few weeks there on the market, but if you price yours competitively it should sell reasonably quickly.
I can give you details of all the reputable European Resale brokers if that would be of any help?

I agree with Barry, we bought 2 Gold holiday weeks at Son Antem last year for £5k and there were several more being offered by the broker for similar prices.

I'd be very surprised if you were unable to sell it for 1k.

MVCI have been buying back weeks at Son Antem last year and again this year but only from thoe owners who have registered to sell back. A Gold week at Son Antem should sell for about £3.5k to £4k

How long it might take is down to supply and demand. A good resale broker would be a good place to start.

What happens if you don't pay the MFs is clearly defined. Initially you will be charged late fees and chased by MVCI. However if you just ignore these then the second year you fail to pay the MFs , then your Right to Use (RTU) your week will be revoked and you lose the week. MVCI will then pay off the outstanding MFs to the Resort hand your week is then placed in the inventory to resell to another potential owner. So if you do not mind the hassle you can just walk away if that is what you decide to do. However you would be giving up a potential return of at least some of what you paid for the week.
