Marriott Shadow Ridge villa location request

We will be a Shadow Ridge Villages mid October - is it too early for a room request?

Has the most recent round of renovations made its way through the entire property?

Our group is two families, each with two kids. I am thinking a building near the largest pool area.

Renovations aren't complete. I don't know for sure, but I think most renovations are done with the exception of what is noted on the HUB. Perhaps someone else can confirm. This is what the HUB says about removations through this year

Marriott’s Shadow Ridge will be undergoing an interior villa renovation through November 2024. Please anticipate construction noise during daytime hours. Amenities are expected to remain open for your enjoyment. Due to specific requests and to mitigate the impact on your stay, the following list confirms the buildings and dates they will be unavailable.

Building 2600 - Aug.22, 2024, through Sept.23, 2024
Building 3000 - Sept. 23, 2024, through Oct. 25, 2024
Building 2900 - Oct. 26, 2024 through Nov. 27 2024

I understand they are working on one building at a time. Are you saying that your building was complete or that all buildings have completed renovations and the schedule on the HUB is inaccurate?

Our building seemed to be complete because we didn’t see any work at 2400-2500. Not sure about the rest of it.

I usually get an alert from them 3 weeks before check-in. Sometimes they don't contact me, so I call them and talk to the pre-arrivals desk.

Units close to the main pool are great for families with kids. Also a first floor unit may be desirable so that you can sit at the lanai table and keep an eye on the kids as they're playing in the grass outside your unit.

We have a checkin the first week of October and got the preference email on Friday. So they should reach out about three weeks prior. The preference form does have a free form box where you can put in certain requests. The request dropdown also has options for a range of buildings.

The renovation schedule on Hub was very accurate when we stayed earlier this year.

That is what I was thinking. Post #3 seemed to imply that perhaps all renovations were complete when it was just that one building that was complete. I suspect they take the entire building out of the system while they are renovating.

Correct. A fence is erected around the building's parking area and all equipment, supplies, etc. are in the parking lot. It is quite an operation.
