Marriott Platinum from ownership

I own 6 platinum weeks at Marriott Newport Coast. Any way to get permanent status from this ownership??? I am Platinum with SPG if that helps.

And if you don't use SPG they made a huge change in November. If you use points for a stay it counts just like a paid stay. I was short of stays and found local hotel that charged 1600 points and $30 a night for a stay!

A key point is that the ownership of MVCI weeks will not give one Gold (50 nights) or platinum (75 nights) status. One must actually stay use those weeks to stay in the resort. These nights spent in a Marriott timeshare are added to nights earned staying at normal Marriott hotel properties, credit card nights, etc., to determine the status one achieves.

In any case, in MR permanent status is based on achieving some number of lifetime nights.
